Doug Ford and his record, so far.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford has a very ambitious agenda. He’s done things to help lower taxes, though, there is no budget yet, that I think will have to wait until next year. The price of gas has gone down. Ten cents a litre which is what he promised. I’m quite sure he’ll do his best to make it lower, and keep his promises. In every announcement, he has a saying, “Promise made, promise kept.” During the election, everyone knew he was on record as saying he would scrap the SexEd curriculum. Now that he’s done it, he’s getting a lot of Opposition, from the Leader of the Opposition Andrea Horwath, as well as Teachers and their Unions, who threaten to continue with the current curriculum which teaches about same sex marriage. The Union will support any teacher who in fact disobey the government’s agenda. This I think is wrong. But I think some things should be included such as Cyberbullying. The government’s agenda is to implement the STEM education pedagogy to students. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics. These I think are essential for learning. But, Andrea Horwath doesn’t like the idea. All the time and continually, the Opposition and MSM are referring to the curriculum as being 20 years old, when in natural fact, it was actually started twenty years ago and then changed in 2015.

That’s Three years ago, not Twenty!

Andrea Horwath, she’s wasn’t opposed to it. The point being she wasn’t the Premier then and she isn’t now. And she’s not going to be for a while either. Meanwhile, Doug Ford who is the Premier, continues with his ambitious Agenda by reducing the amount of City Council Seats from 47 to 24. And I’m sure nobody saw this coming. I certainly didn’t. I didn’t know it was possible. Of course the Opposition is opposed, and the City of Toronto is against it. They say it was done in the middle of an election. But you should note that a Municipal election is not run the same as a Provincial or Federal election. There’s no evidence of an election going on. There’s no signs, placards, no commercials, nobody really is paying attention. I would say that maybe a poll could be conducted to see if an individual person could identify the Councillor in his/her riding. Which is currently 44. I think it is. It was suppose to increase to 47, but Premier Doug Ford is bringing it down to 24. The City, which includes the Mayor John Tory, is challenging the legislation and taking it to Court. John Tory, who is Conservative is probably not opposed to the idea, but the timing is well, not very good. But let’s ask the most difficult question.

Is this the Right Time?

Well, the alternative is that it waits. For four more years. Until there is another election. That’s more waste, more red tape, more bureaucracy, the City Council will still be opposed against, The Opposition at Queen’s Park will be also. If this happened four or five years down the road, Andrea Horwath would be vowing to scrap the idea, once becoming Premier. You better believe it.

In closing, I’d like to say that now would be a good time to see where Doug Ford and his PC Government stands among voters. He certainly did things to get the people’s attention. But is his following still strong? My personal opinion is YES! Because, as much as some people want him out, he’s still following his agenda. He was just in Halifax, Nova Scotia where he addressed the Conservative Convention. He’s doing very well, very confident in himself. Feeling pretty good. I pray that he will seek wisdom from God and to know what to do next. It’s up to him to do that. So this is my latest posting, unfortunetely, I’ve not included an excerpt. Have a great day. May the Lord bless you.
