Hi. I’m not sure if the word JustinFlation is the proper word to be used for this type of Post but it seems to be popular these days and it’s what I’d like to talk about. I think what the Government is actually doing is wrong and will not make the problem go away. I got a GST payment deposited to my account this week which I was told was doubled. When I did my Income earlier this year it showed that I was going to be entitled to just over $100 every three months. If it’s doubled that means I’ll be getting over $800 over the next year.

Is that worth it?

Not really. I don’t exactly need it. I’m still paying for food, I’ve not had to go to a Food Bank, I’m still making a good Income, I’m not to far from where I work, I can still put gas in my car. And pay Auto Insurance. I will likely send more money into my Savings Account. Praise The Lord for His Provision and Forgiveness. I wonder what the Government is doing about this Inflation stuff? I personally don’t think this is the way to be dealing with it. The Inflation is currently at about 8.1% And it’s important to remember that this Government has been running a deficit from the very beginning. That’s 2015. That’s long before any pandemic, or any War in Ukraine, and it is their way of dealing with it. Giving us more money to deal with it. Which is not a good way. What they should be doing is establishing policy to combat it. That doesn’t fix the problem immediately, like giving us more money to pay for things or to avoid things like the Food Bank, but eventually it will bring things under control. I used to look at people who were all making over $20 dollars an hour and I used to think that “man, if I could only get to that much I’d be set!” Now, I’m up over that and it still doesn’t seem enough.

What happened?

Well, everything got more expensive. My rent went up this year. And my landlord complains. He’s taking a trip to the Orient in two weeks but he still complains about things like water usage in the house. He’ll be back in January. And I know he’s going to be increasing the rent of everyone else when he gets the chance too. Hopefully I’ll be settled in somewhere else. Housing seems to be an issue everywhere you go. But anyways, I don’t think this is the way to deal with Inflation. Everything’s expensive. The price of gas. But you don’t fix it by giving people more money. That would be like saying that it’s going to stay around but here’s some money to help you deal with it. Does anyone want to pay $2 per litre at the gas pump? I don’t. But I still want the money the Government gives us. I’ll put that into my Retirement or TFSA. Either way, there needs to be some monetary policy set in place and if Trudeau and Chrystia Freeland don’t deal with this than they can watch how their Popularity goes from bad to worse. I’m hoping it comes soon. Not because I like a Conservative Government and PM, but because I want to put an end to this Inflation and Debt that we’ve had since the beginning when these liberals took over in 2015. I honestly liked Stephen Harper more than Justin Trudeau. Take care.
