Who really cares about our winters here in Canada? We don’t, and nobody else does who lives in another Country like the United States. We are living on borrowed time. You may have not known this about me but before the War started in Ukraine just almost a year ago I checked to see what kind of money Ukraine was spending on Defense. It happened almost by accident, I was actually trying to see what kind of flag they had. Their budget was quite large. Tens of billions being spent on Troops, ships and equipment. Much larger than Canada. Probably two or three times more. I was quite surprised. It didn’t seem significant at the time, it was in 2012. When Stephen Harper was PM. Look today and well it’s a lot worse. See a headline today and it says, “Cost of new Arctic patrol ships jumps by $780M.” Ask Justin Trudeau about this in Question Period (I doubt anybody asked) and he’d say something other than what the question is. See another headline that says, “Time for Canada to pull it’s weight” Defense spending must be increased it says. But to put it realistically, forget all that stuff, liberals won’t spend more, they don’t want to, maybe just a few things here, few things there but the bottom line is they don’t want too. Justin Trudeau is just one guy in a long line of PM’s who’ve spent next to nothing on Defense, ships, troops, equipment. Ultimately, we rely on being in NATO and the United States being South of us if anything happens. And that’s what I mean by living on borrowed time.

What if something happened to United States?

Like they were annihilated by Russia in a nuclear war? Is that an awful thing to say? Maybe. But I hope you keep on reading. As I said earlier, Trudeau is the latest in a long line of PM’s to cut Defense spending. His Dad was probably the first one. Back in the 1970’s. But, it all started back then. And I wish we could stop it. The liberals even do when in Opposition. They may no be the Government but they are doing things to try to keep the Government from buying things like the EH 101 helicopters, Companies and |Orginisations are doing things like suing the Government (Conservatives) for a wrongful procurement process, which says We should have got that Defense Contract before they did and we want you to change it! The ultimate plan is to stop it from being built but once a new liberal Government comes into power, it’s just put onto the shelf to collect dust again. It’s a game, and it’s hard to stop it from being played. When we were the Dominion of Canada we were required to join the British Government for any conflict that was of interest. That’s how we ended up in WW1 and WW2 before United States did. We were Allies, we were also under British rule. But when Pierre Trudeau watched Queen Elizabeth sign the Constitution and Charter of Rights making Canada a free Country under it’s own rule to make and decide what it decided, it cut back on Defense spending. Very badly. And it’s never been the same since then.

This destroys Canada’s Reputation abroad. It doesn’t make people like us look bad, but in terms of Government officials in other Countries, we don’t come to mind. Not to U.S. politicians or in Europe or Australia, which is a smaller Country but is able to defend their Sovereignty quite well. This explains why Canada had a puzzling low reputation around the World. I can tell you first hand that Canadians like to travel. Working at the Airport in Toronto I see tens of thousands of people every week getting ready to travel. Some to hotspots, some to European destinations, but lots of people week after week. I load their flights. Some think we have it made. We’ve got everything we need. When we travel to the State of Florida, we think people will respect us. Maybe. But they also know how our Government spends very little on Defense. And we don’t gain respect, we lose it when we know our Government doesn’t care when there’s a conflict elsewhere. Like Ukraine.

We’re losing Respect to Countries and Government officials around the World. And this was the idea of liberals. Why?

We can’t protect our Sovereignty. We can’t stop something like a September 11th. Or send 1,000 Troops to Afghanistan. Or equipment. Or around the Country. I don’t think we’re a Sovereign Country if we can’t defend every inch of it. Even the United States has invaded our Northern land.

True North Strong and Free?

I wouldn’t call us Strong, and I wouldn’t call us free if we can’t defend ourselves. And not when you have Countries like China and Russia itching to try and take away our Natural Resources. And Sovereignty. This liberal Government has so much at it’s disposal, most of all a Country where people want to build and learn and protect itself from foreign Governments who want our Resources. Government members from other Countries, like the U.S. and Great Britain don’t think of us because of our weak Defense. And our weak position. Call a politician a liar or whatever you want, but when the President speaks, people listen. And if we’re not on his mind well, who really cares about Canada. It doesn’t sound like Canada’s Back does it?

We can be Strong but liberals won’t be helping us, not now or in the future.

Did you know there are Canadian Companies that bid for U.S. Defense Contracts? They’re building big huge things like Vehicles that protect from landmines. I’ve seen them. They’re also building Tanks. If they can do that for the U.S; they can also do it for us. But not for this Government who’s not interested. This is not my idea of Canada. It’s our Government that holds us back. Liberals in particular. I want to change that. Almost Immediately. I want our current Soldiers to have Admiration. I want them to have the respect of Canadians who they’ve defended. I want Veterans to have everything that a Government can give, like a Pension to retire on along with their work life. I want us to have hundreds of thousands of Troops, and Equipment and ships, and an Airforce that has the latest technology like an F35 fighter jet. I want the best of everything so no one, not Even Russia will contemplate a thought of invading Canada. This Government won’t help, we need to vote them out and bring in a Conservative Govt. to help. But no interference from anybody to stop things. Let’s build things to protect our Sovereignty. Or True North Strong and Free! I’m proud to be Canadian. Govt. notwithstanding.
