Prorogation

Prorogation of a Parliament results in the termination of a session. Parliament then stands prorogued until the opening of the next session. Like the summoning and dissolution of Parliament, prorogation is a prerogative act of the Crown, taken on the advice of the Prime Minister (PM). Parliament is actually prorogued either by the Governor General (GG) or the Deputy GG in the Senate Chamber, or by proclamation published in the Canada Gazzette. When Parliament stands prorogued to a certain day, a subsequent proclamation (or proclamations) may be issued to advance or defer the date.

I think it could be said that Justin Trudeau is getting ready to push the panic button and end this session of Parliament with his own MP’s moving against him. From what I know so far it’s a revolt of about 20 to 30 liberal MP’s who want him to resign so they can move on without him. The Ultimatum he has is this:

RESIGN NOW! (Or be prepared to watch a whole bunch of liberal MP’s to vote in a Confidence Motion to bring the Gov’t down). Doesn’t seem possible? I don’t think it’s out of reach. Would liberal MP’s vote with the Opposition to bring it’s own Government down? Yes. In this situation it’s possible. Maybe I’m wrong but maybe not.

What I want you to remember about JT and Prorogation is this:

Justin Trudeau doesn’t want to resign. He wants to lead these liberals into the next election. That’s Period Stop.

Next, He loves Power and wants to keep power at all costs.

He’s a typical liberal and of course wants to “Get power at all costs, keep power at all costs.”

Prorogation is HIS responsibility and no one else’s, even to those in his own Caucus. Nobody gains by it except himself. (How’s that for keeping Power at all costs).

He’s making himself out to be bigger than the Liberal Party of Canada.

Trudeau knows that every people, person and Voter wants to put an end to this madness and call an election ASAP, but he’s only thinking of himself. Prorogation is in his best interest.

Last but not least: Jagmeet Singh isn’t far behind JT. Even the Bloq Leader is smarter than these two guys. He knows how separate himself from the others.

When Prorogation is done and MP’s come back to Parliament to work (watch for this to happen next year in April, May or whatever, also watch for Susan Delacourt to have another one her one on one friendly chats with Trudeau), the Government is required to have a Speech from the Throne. The Throne Speech is suppose to be a confidence matter and must be put a vote in Parliament.
